Bucharest, February 24, 2009                    15 IT services providers and application development companies will be present in the 2009 edition of CeBIT, in the romaniaIT national booth. Main topics presented by Romanian companies include enterprise integrated management applications and outsourcing services for programming, web development and design.

IT & telecom sector in Romania was subject to continuous and constant growth and continues to be attractive for western European partners and investors. “Romanian IT industry generates innovative software products and services and Romania is more and more considered a prominent high-tech location” says Valerica Dragomir, Executive Director of ANIS – Employers’ Association of the software and services Industry.

“The decision of choosing Romania as a new localization destination is motivated by a series of criteria, out of which costs are but a small part. Besides lower operational costs, criteria that indicate Romania as a preferred destination relate to the sizeable pool of specialists, general orientation towards the use of high-end technologies and also cultural compatibility and remarkable language skills. International business context and present changes on the global market are most favorable for outsourcing companies. Projects externalization, especially IT projects, is the most rapid, simple and effective way of cost reduction, without however affecting company operations. Outsourcing services and own innovative products are the key for success of the Romanian IT sector”, says Dragomir.

Romanian companies present software solutions and IT services for various industries and business processes. Vertical solutions and horizontal technologies are both presented by the 15 companies exhibiting in the romaniaIT national booth, to increase effectiveness of various industries – from tourism and hospitability to banking and finance. CRM and ERP solutions for SMEs, eLearning and eCommerce platforms as well as mobile applications for phones, PDAs and navigation systems are also on display.

This 8th participation of Romanian companies at CeBIT is part of the export promotion program managed by Ministry of SMEs, Commerce and Business Environment, Romanian Trade promotion Center and Employers’ Association of the Software Industry and Services, together with German Society for technical cooperation (GTZ).
